Ash beds exposed by quarry - photographic evidence.   This ash was observed behind a beachfront restaurant at the south end of Playa Grande.  A second deposit of layered black ash was seen (but not photographed) from the road between Playa Grande and Amapala, about 900 meters to the east-northeast.
